 Santiago
Santiago is the Capital of Chile. Here is concentrated most of the economic, managment, cultural, comercial, industrial and politic chilean activity. The city was fouded on February the 14th, on 1541, just in the valley of Mapocho River, in the feet of Santa Lucía hill, By Pedro de Valdivia.
It`s located on the central valley, between Coastal Mountain Range and the Andes.The important presence of The Andes over the valley gets manifest through San Cristóbal and Santa Lucía hills.
The weather ruling in this region is mediterranean-type climate, tempering, with regular temperatures variations between Summer and Winter. Rain is concentrated from March to September (fall and winter), and they`re almost inexistance during Summer. The average temperature a year is 22ºC in Summer, though sometimes it can get over the 30ºC.
City has important urban arquitechtonic buildings like La Casa Colorada (1769), Cal y Canto bridge (1780), Moneda Palace (1850), Alameda de las Delicias (1820), General Cemmetery, and National Congress building (1875). |
